Overview
About compliance readiness support
Most security standards and regulators expect regular, independent security testing, and auditors expect evidence they can rely on. Compliance support means we scope, carry out and report our testing so that it serves that purpose.
To be clear about our role: Cenvox is not an auditor or a certification body, and we do not certify compliance. We provide the security testing, reports, retest evidence and technical support that your audit needs, and we work alongside your auditor and your compliance team.
A typical starting point
An auditor, regulator or enterprise customer needs evidence of security testing, and you want it in a form they will accept.
The security problem
Why compliance evidence gets rejected
Scope that does not match the requirement
A test that missed in-scope systems, such as the cardholder data environment, may not satisfy the auditor.
Scanner output presented as a penetration test
Automated scan reports without manual verification are often not accepted as penetration testing evidence.
No evidence that issues were fixed
Findings without retest results leave open questions at audit time.
Out-of-date reports
Many requirements expect testing at defined intervals and after significant changes.
What’s covered
What compliance support includes
Area 01
Requirement-led scoping
- Understanding what your standard, regulator or customer actually asks for
- Scoping testing to cover the systems and frequency required
- Telling you upfront if a requirement needs a provider from a specific panel, such as CERT-In empanelled organisations
Area 02
Testing and reporting
- Network, application, mobile, cloud and IoT testing as required
- Reports with a clear scope and methodology statement for auditors
- Findings referenced to the relevant control areas, where useful
Area 03
Remediation and closure
- Technical guidance while your team fixes findings
- Retesting of remediated findings
- Retest reports or closure letters as evidence that issues were resolved
Area 04
Supporting your audit
- Answering your auditor’s technical questions about our testing
- Help answering the security-testing sections of customer questionnaires accurately
Our approach
How compliance readiness support works
Step 1: Understand the requirement
We review the clause, regulation or customer request driving the work, and the evidence your auditor expects.
Step 2: Scope and authorise
We agree systems, approach and timing in writing, so the scope matches the requirement.
Step 3: Test
We carry out the relevant testing using recognised methodologies such as PTES, OWASP and NIST SP 800-115.
Step 4: Report
You receive an executive summary, technical findings and a scope and methodology statement written with auditors in mind.
Step 5: Remediate and retest
We support your team while fixes are made, retest them and issue closure evidence.
Frameworks our testing commonly supports
- ISO/IEC 27001:2022
- Technical vulnerability management and testing evidence for your information security management system.
- SOC 2
- Evidence for the security testing commonly reviewed in SOC 2 examinations.
- PCI DSS v4.0
- Internal and external penetration testing and segmentation testing requirements.
- Indian regulatory requirements
- Periodic VAPT expectations from regulators and partner institutions, such as RBI- and SEBI-regulated entities, and CERT-In guidance.
What you receive
The evidence you receive
Audit-ready test report
Executive summary, technical findings, and a scope and methodology statement.
Control references
Where useful, findings referenced to the control areas of the framework you are working to.
Retest and closure evidence
Confirmation of which findings have been fixed, for your audit file.
Auditor query support
Clarification of our testing and findings when your auditor asks.
Sample finding
Outdated TLS versions accepted on the payment page
pay.example.com:443
PCI DSS v4.0 Requirement 4.2.1
- What we found
- The payment page still accepts TLS 1.0 and 1.1, which PCI DSS does not consider strong cryptography.
- Evidence
- Protocol scan results show TLS 1.0 and 1.1 handshakes succeeding; confirmed manually. Tool output attached.
- Business impact
- This would be raised as non-compliance in a PCI DSS assessment, and weakens protection of cardholder data in transit.
- Fix
- Disable TLS 1.0 and 1.1 on the load balancer, allow only TLS 1.2 and 1.3 with strong cipher suites, then retest to provide evidence for the assessor.
- Status
- OpenFixed, retest scheduled
Good to know
We support compliance; we do not certify it
Certification and attestation are carried out by accredited certification bodies and independent auditors. Our role is the security testing and technical evidence that those audits rely on. We will never describe a test report as a compliance certificate.
Good to know
Check whether your requirement names a specific panel
Some regulators and government bodies require testing by providers from a specific list, such as CERT-In empanelled organisations. We will tell you at scoping whether our report can meet your requirement, so there are no surprises at audit time.
Before we start
What we need to prepare your evidence
- The standard, regulation, clause or customer request that is driving the testing.
- Any guidance or previous comments from your auditor.
- Previous test reports, if you want continuity or comparison.
- The usual testing prerequisites: scope, contacts, access and signed authorisation.
Not sure you have everything?
We confirm exactly what compliance readiness support needs from your side during the scoping call, before any work is agreed.

Questions about compliance readiness support
Still have a question?
Ask about scope, timing or cost for compliance readiness support, even if you are not ready to commission work yet.
Contact our teamCan Cenvox certify us for ISO 27001 or SOC 2?
No. ISO/IEC 27001 certificates are issued by accredited certification bodies, and SOC 2 reports by independent auditors. We provide the security testing and evidence that support those audits.
Will your VAPT report be accepted by our auditor?
Our reports include the scope and methodology detail auditors usually look for. Acceptance is always the auditor’s decision, so if they have specific expectations we ask you to share them before testing so the report addresses them.
Is Cenvox CERT-In empanelled?
If your requirement specifies a CERT-In empanelled auditor, tell us at the start. We will confirm whether we can meet it before any work is agreed, rather than leaving you to find out at audit time.
Do you write policies or run our compliance programme?
No. Our compliance support is focused on security testing, technical evidence and remediation guidance. Policy writing and running a compliance programme are best handled by your compliance team or a specialist compliance consultant, and we are happy to work alongside them.
